
Course Overview
This qualification reflects the role of support workers who complete specialised tasks and functions in aged services; either in residential, home or community based environments.
Workers will take responsibility for their own outputs within defined organisation guidelines and maintain quality service delivery through the development, facilitation and review of individualised service planning and delivery
Entry Requirements
Entry to this qualification is limited to those who:
- are at least 18 years of age by the expected commencement date of the course;
- completed year 12 (HSC or Equivalent)
- have the ability to undertake practical placement in a regulated education and care service
- able to obtain a National Police Clearance and Working with Children Check
- have sound communication skills, requiring that applicants:
- provide an IELTS certificate showing a score of 5.5 or equivalent, with no individual component lower than 5.5, and
- undertake and satisfactorily complete The One International College’s Language, Literacy and Numeracy Assessment and achieve an ACSF Level of 3
- be able to satisfactorily participate in preenrolment interview

Course Duration and Delivery
The course program is scheduled to be delivered over a 52-week timeframe of full-time study consisting of 40 weeks of scheduled class time plus 12 weeks of breaks.
- Classes are scheduled at 20 hours per week (15 hours face-to-face + 5 hours online learning).
- A minimum work placement of 120 hours is also required to achieve competency.
- Holiday periods are 3 weeks in duration for every term-break throughout the year.
